We have been inundated with emails of concerned parents and we thank you for your valuable suggestions.
Keeping your children safe while at school is The Ardee School’s top priority.
Listed below are several safety measures currently in place designed to safeguard students and to ensure positive student learning in the classroom. As always, we welcome your comments and would be happy to discuss any ideas or concerns you may have regarding the matter of school safety or emergency preparedness.
Entry/exit of all persons in the school is strictly through lanyards /home cards.
Closed Circuit Television: We have digital cameras installed in our school to monitor activity inside and out. Through this system, we can check/control dangerous situations at our schools and capture video images which will aid investigations on questionable activities in and around our schools. The CCTV feeds will monitor this on an ongoing basis and feeds will be reviewed from time to time. Each morning all schools report the working condition of the cameras to the IT officer at school.
A control panel is set up with the screen visible, which ensures that the footage is visible not only to the designated viewer but to any other concerned person. All of our five schools relay a live feed to the Head office at Barakhamba Road where in the chief vigilance officer views the update. The live feed is relayed on the mobile phone of every head of the school, where in viewing is available 24/7.
Police Verification: All staff has been verified by the police. Back ground check is done.A record of the same is maintained in a file and is available with the admin department.Bio data with personal details of all staff, permanent or contractual is maintained as part of school records.
In House Vigilance Team: A roster has been made. The Vigilance in charge takes 3 walking inspections daily to particularly monitor that only those staff who are authorised to have access to parts of premises, are seen in those areas; checks entry/exits to washrooms, whether any unauthorized person is entering classrooms and if any person is attempting to gain unauthorized entry.Over and above this the Headmistress and Heads are taking regular rounds of the premises as part of the vigilance procedure.
Safety Officer: The school has a designated Safety Officer to ensure that there is minimum risk to child safety on account of physical hazards and to ensure the following are given due attention: Electricity-related risks;kitchens stores are stored safety in an area away from children;gas-related risks, water-related risks, fire-related risks have been taken into account. The playground and building is audited regularly by a structural supervisor.

Thereafter, the exercise shall be repeated annually for all staff, attendants who come in daily contact with children.
Catering incharge: The school has a designated officer who will ensure basic hygiene and cleanliness of any food or liquid items served, as well as of the premises, counters, utensils, crockery etc.
Fire Safety: Monthly fire drills ensure our students and staff are prepared for a quick exit from the building in the event of an emergency. The fire department personnel train the staff on the use of fire extinguishers.
24‐Hour Security: The Sentinel security agency provides 2 guards and also head security in charge who work in security patrol, safeguarding students, staff, campus visitors, and property.
All construction and repair work on school premises are done on weekends or only after school hours.
No entry of plumbers, electricians, carpenters, labourers, etc. is permitted on premises during school hours unless urgent and then too accompanied by a school admin person at all times.
