Subject : Winter Carnival @ The Ardee School, Gurugram

Dear Parent,

As our students move into the last leg of the session, the time has come for them to present their skills honed in the current year - that of planning, reasoning and execution. The Ardee School empowers adolescents with the knowledge that they must take responsibility for their own care and that their activities, pursuits and actions have a very real effect on their fellow students, instructors, home and community. Lessons about economics, environmental sciences, and domestic arts are acquired through hands-on work and reading. These help develop the intellect through community discussion, by enriching interactions with art, music and nature.

To provide an opportunity for our students of grade III upwards to execute their learning now at community and society level, we provide them a platform in the guise of a winter carnival.

The ‘Ardee winter carnival’ is scheduled for Saturday 9th of December 2017 from 11 am to 3 pmin the South wing lawns. Students of grade III upwards will be planning the games, kiosks and will be decorating their own kiosks. They will use their marketing skills to ensure their own kiosk attracts the largest number of visitors. They will design inviting banners and exciting slogans to have a high turnover at their kiosk. All the planning and execution will be done by students.

Food counters, karaoke, music and entertainment are some of the highlights of the event.

As Ardeeians prepare to set up kiosks for games that will be manned by them, enterprising parents are encouraged to send in their requests to set up food counters too. You may cover your costs at the food outlets. In case you are musically inclined; you could also register to enthrall fellow Ardeeians with your rendition.

The parent community is also called upon to spread the word and encourage friends and families to attend the carnival. Parent volunteers are welcome and parents who have the know how of spreading the word on social media would be helpful.

This endeavor is aimed to provide Ardeeians a platform to get into the world of marketing and economics, through means of their activity, through their own effort or will, which constitutes the inner evolution of the individual.

For parents, families and friends it is time to pack a punch and ‘enjoy the ride called life’. This busy pace of city dwelling seems to have robbed each one of us our leisure where simplicity brought us joy. It’s time to rewind and unwind @ The Ardee School. See you at the Ardee winter carnival presented by Ardee students!

We are sending home an entry booklet today with each student, worth Rs 1000. There are 10 tickets of Rs.100 + 1 ticket which the student may retain on selling all tickets. Do encourage or even accompany your child to 'spread the word' about the intended carnival among friends and family, as they convince them to buy a coupon. Do ask for extra booklets if your child is keen on doing so. Ardeeians from environments Nido -Yellow will need to be assisted by the parent in this endeavor. We request you to return the empty booklet foil to school by 24th November, 2017 to school. You may send it back with your child in the bag to the Form Tutor.

- Corporate sponsorship by way of Raffle gifts for Silent Auction

Subject : Vocabulary Development @ Ardee

Dear Parents,

Greetings from The Ardee School, Gurugram.

Vocabulary development is a process by which humans acquire words. Babbling shifts towards meaningful speech as infants grow and produce their first words around the age of one year. In early word learning, infants build their vocabulary slowly. By the age of 18 months, infants can typically produce about 50 words and begin to make word combinations. In their first 12 months, babies develop many of the foundations that underpin speech and language development. For the first three years or so, children understand a lot more than they can say. Language development supports your child's ability to communicate, express and understand feelings.

Language development in children is one of the prime concern at Ardee. Therefore we have regular speech day, spelling bee, read aloud sessions and other initiatives to promote a love for speaking clearly and fluently. Keeping this in mind we have started an initiative under which we are introducing new and difficult words and their meanings to the children on a regular basis.

We request you to use these words in your daily conversation with the child so that our special initiative is supplemented by your support.

Given below is a list of difficult words with meanings and short sentences and phrases for reference. They will be introduced over a period of one month. Please try to use the words in your daily conversation with the children.

Subject : Health and Safety @ Ardee

Dear Parents,

Greetings from The Ardee School, Gurugram.

'Observation is the key to the Montessori Method'.

Our class mentors are trained to minutely observe the children and their environment.

Health and safety is of prime concern @ Ardee. Our trained Montessori mentors take full precautions to provide a safe and healthy environment for our children through numerous ways.

A harmonious environment is built when the children freely choose their work, concentrate and work independently on their own as part of a respectful, peaceful community. As Montessorians, we strive to provide an enriched, stimulating environment which fosters order, coordination, concentration and independence. The environment within which the child is an active explorer and learner, can develop self-direction and a true love of learning. Our role is to nurture the growth of the child cognitively, socially, emotionally and physically.

Learning to take care of self and care of the environment in the Practical Life area assists the children as they venture to other parts of the classroom. The time we spend reinforcing Practical Life activities, including Grace and Courtesy always helps.

Every morning and afternoon class mentors check the classroom and the area around to ensure cleanliness and safety.

Arrival and dispersal at the gate are monitored under the supervision of school heads, mentors, helpers and guards.

It is mandatory for adults to show the 'Home Card' at dispersal time. This is for the safety and security of our children.

Children are never left alone. They are always under the supervision of an adult.

Peace activities with children are done regularly in school to build a harmonious atmosphere.

Healthy meals are prepared under hygienic conditions and served to children for breakfast and lunch.

Outdoor play, co-curricular and extra curricular activities and swimming are done under adult supervision.

If a child is hurt then immediate first aid is given and the parents are alerted simultaneously. The parents are requested to come and pick up the child.

Safety and health are always on top of our priority list at Ardee but without parent community support such goals are difficult to meet. Therefore we request our parent community to work in harmony with us to reinforce health and safety precautions at Ardee.
