Afternoon activities – Term 2, 2017-18
Starting date - 03/10/2017
Ending date – 20/12/2017
Time – 3 pm to 3.40 pm (dispersal arrangements remain the same as per other days)
When – Every Tuesday and Friday except on holidays as per the school calendar.
Snacks - Students will be provided with a snack after the session.



Dear Parents

We are pleased to announce the after school Activities Programme, starting October 3 to December 20, 2017 for students of grade 1 to grade 9 at the Ardee School, NFC. We have hired highly trained external facilitators to run these activities. A few activities will be headed by competent inhouse teachers.

Please note the following guidelines carefully.

  • For fitness, ballet and dance activities the students must carry comfortable track pants /shorts and a T shirt. To perform better, the required clothing is a must.
  • Kindly consult your child before finalising the activity.
  • The student will not be permitted to change the activity once they have started. However concerns will be shared with the facilitator to address the students concerns.
  • There will be a capping for every activity. Kindly read the number of seats on offer.
  • We will require a minimum of 5 students to start an activity.
  • If we fall short of the required numbers we will request you to consult your child and sign up for another activity.

We aim to provide our students with a robust programme and would welcome any suggestions from you at the end of the term.

Feedback will be taken from every student and the findings will be shared with all parents when the programme ends.

IMPORTANT:
Please note that the After School Activities Programme is part of the school day. Consequently, our expectations of student behavior are consistent with the behavior policy of the school. Should your child’s behavior compromise the safety and well-being of other students, or if he/she does not follow the instructions given by the instructor, it may be necessary to exclude your child from the activity as they will be bound by the school’s behavior policy. This is to ensure the best possible learning environment for all students.

The ballet, martial arts, chess and gymnastics that the students were learning during the school day has now shifted to the after school activity programme.

Payment
The cost of theprogramme is Rs. 1250/- per month. This will be included in the term 2 fees. (1250 X 3= Rs. 3750/- for the quarter.)

The registration will open on “online form” from September 11 2017.

The registration will end at 11.59 pm on September 25, 2017. No signing in/ change will be entertained after this day and time. The school reserves the right to allot an activity , that has less registered students if the student misses the deadline.

A list will be sent out to every parent confirming the activity your child has been registerd for.

4 Self-Defense and Fitness

Students will be empowered to be stronger, fitter and also develop their mental strength along with physical attributes.
 
5 Art & Clay Modelling

Students will create their own design on paper, sharpen their ability to design, paint, 3D painting and much more to enhance their imagination. Students will also dabble with clay, use their imagination and create various articles.

Activities Overview (Grade V - IX)

1 Fit for life
(10 students)
Facilitators from Delhi Dance Academy. Help students to make fitness a lifelong norm. Each class combines activities from martial artsgymnastics,kick boxing, sports conditioning, dance and yoga All classes work on team building, challenges and reinforce the importance of being active for life!
2 Chess

Students sharpen their ability to plan and think different moves so as to compete at higher levels and face other challenges in life.
3 Theatre
(10 students)
To be decided Students are introduced to play productions, directional skills, script writing, story board and exciting theatre games.
4 Dance
(10 students)
Facilitators from Delhi Dance Academy Dance classes are a great alternative to team sports. Participating in dance classes can be beneficial for kids of all age groups. It helps in : improved physical health, socialisation, alleviate stage fear and improved self esteem.
5 Music
(10 students)
Mr. Prabhat Kumar Students will be taught tabla and percussion instruments. They will learn the above to represent the school at various platforms.
